Speakers included several members of Congress: Sen. Bernie Sanders, Sen. Barbara Boxer, Sen. John Kerry, Rep. Edward Markey, and Rep. Henry Waxman. Also, three youth described actions they are leading in their communities. Rob Sisson of Republicans for Environmental Protection talked about the Great Lakes in his homestate of Michigan, and Alaska Natives and members of the Gwich’in Nation spoke of and villages being threatened. |
