Global Warming Sermon Contest
This year GWIPL is happy to announce our first ever Earth Day sermon, homily, or khutba writing contest. This is a wonderful opportunity for your congregation to be reminded of deep faith connections to the issue of global warming and to help inspire the community to live more sustainably. Furthermore, as a larger interfaith community we will be able to honor and celebrate our great clergy and lay speakers.
Top Prize: $300 worth of CFL light bulbs for your favorite soup kitchen or similar low-income community project.
Two Runners-up Prizes: $100 worth of CFL light bulbs for your favorite soup kitchen or similar low-income community project |
Sermons will be judged on:
- Clarity and focus of the entire sermon
- Aesthetic appeal
- Theological foundation
- Creativity |
